FAQs

What types of Kensington properties does Susan Chesney Interiors specialise in?

We work across a wide range of Kensington homes - from spacious Victorian terraces and lateral apartments to contemporary new-builds requiring a warmer, more characterful interior layer.

Kensington's architectural variety is one of the things we love most about working in the area, and we tailor our approach entirely to the specific character of each property. Whether your home has original period features worth celebrating, or a blank-canvas layout ready to be shaped, we bring the same level of intention and skill to every project.

How does Susan Chesney Interiors ensure projects in Kensington are delivered on time and on budget?

Organisation and communication sit at the heart of how we work. From the very first consultation, we establish a clear project scope, an honest budget framework, and a realistic timeline.

We collaborate closely with architects, contractors, and tradespeople throughout the process, maintaining an active presence on site to ensure the design is executed precisely as intended. Our clients in Kensington frequently tell us how reassuring it is to have a team that is genuinely present - not just at the beginning and end, but at every stage in between.

Can I commission Susan Chesney Interiors for a single room in my Kensington home, rather than a full project?

Absolutely. Our room-to-room service is specifically designed for clients who want to invest in one space at a time, whether that's a principal bedroom that hasn't been touched in years, a kitchen-diner crying out for a considered refresh, or a living room that simply doesn't feel like "you" anymore.

Many of our Kensington clients start with a single room and return to us for more - which we take as the best possible endorsement of the work we do. There is no minimum project size; what matters is that we do the work properly.

What is Susan Chesney's design philosophy, and how does it translate to homes in Kensington?

Our philosophy centres on creating spaces that are as good to live in as they are to look at. We design for everyday life - for the morning light coming through the window, for the way a sofa should feel at the end of a long day, for the quiet pleasure of a room that's been thoughtfully put together.

In Kensington, where many of our clients have lived in their homes for years and want to refresh without losing the warmth they've built up, this approach resonates deeply. We don't impose a house style; we listen, translate, and create.

Is Susan Chesney Interiors able to take on Kensington projects that involve renovation work alongside the interior design?

Yes - and this is where our full end-to-end service really comes into its own. We regularly collaborate with architects and building contractors to manage interior design projects that run alongside significant renovation work.

Having a dedicated interior designer involved from the early stages of a renovation means that decisions around layout, lighting, joinery, and finish are made holistically rather than as an afterthought. For Kensington clients undertaking a larger project, this integrated approach typically saves both time and money in the long run - and ensures the finished result feels cohesive from floor to ceiling.
