A single room refresh might take two to three months from brief to completion. A full property redesign, particularly one involving interior architecture, bespoke furniture, or significant procurement, typically runs between six months and a year or more. We're experienced at managing complex, multi-phase projects and will always give you a realistic timeline at the start, along with clear milestones so you know exactly where your project stands at every stage.

Our primary focus is private residential design, creating homes that are personal, purposeful, and built to last. We also work on boutique hospitality projects, designing immersive environments that feel considered and memorable, and that reflect the character of the brand. We don't take on large-scale commercial or corporate work; our approach is too bespoke and client-focused for that. Every project we accept receives our full attention.

Susan's background is genuinely unusual, a career spanning luxury fashion with Bottega Veneta and Louis Vuitton, seven years living in Tokyo, and design work across San Francisco, Paris, and the Swiss Alps. This international perspective shapes every project: SCI interiors feel globally informed but never generic. Rather than imposing a signature aesthetic, Susan works closely with each client to create spaces that are authentically theirs. SCI was named in Homes & Gardens' Next in Design 2025 - a list of just 25 British designers shaping the future of the industry - and has won consecutive Global Client Service and Design Excellence awards. The studio is based at Chelsea Harbour Design Centre, and takes on a deliberately limited number of projects each year to ensure every client receives the attention their home deserves.
