At Susan Chesney, our design philosophy centres on quiet luxury, a calm, layered aesthetic where simplicity and sophistication coexist. Every interior design project in Belgravia is approached with care, intention, and a commitment to design that endures.
We believe that beautiful homes should reflect the people who live in them. Our interiors are warm, refined, and effortlessly functional, crafted to elevate everyday living while staying true to each client’s individual story.
This approach has led to our inclusion in the Homes & Gardens Next in Design 2025 (NiD25) list, honouring designers who are shaping the future of interior design. It’s a privilege to be part of such a visionary community.
Why should Belgravia homeowners choose Susan Chesney Interiors for their project?
Belgravia is a neighbourhood defined by elegance - grand white stucco facades, private garden squares, and a sense of quiet, understated luxury that sets it apart from anywhere else in London. Susan Chesney Interiors has been named in the Homes & Gardens Next in Design 2025 list, recognising the studio as one of 25 visionary British designers shaping the future of interiors. For Belgravia clients, this means working with a team that truly understands the art of restraint - designing spaces that feel refined without being cold, sophisticated without being showy, and personal without being predictable.
What does a first consultation with your Belgravia interior designers look like?
Our initial on-site consultation typically lasts between 90 minutes and two hours. During this session, we take the time to understand your goals, your lifestyle, and the particular qualities of your Belgravia home. We'll walk through the space together, take general measurements to support early design thinking, and have an honest conversation about your timeline and budget expectations. A consultation fee applies, and it is very much a working session, not simply a meet-and-greet. You'll leave with a clearer sense of what's possible for your home and how we can help you get there.
How does Susan Chesney Interiors define "quiet luxury" in the context of a Belgravia property?
Quiet luxury, to us, means choosing depth over decoration and quality over quantity. In a Belgravia context, it means working with a considered palette - calm, layered tones that shift beautifully with the light - and selecting materials and furnishings that reward closer inspection. It means thoughtful spatial planning that makes every room feel intentional, not incidental. It means knowing when to hold back. Our Creative Director's background in luxury fashion with Bottega Veneta and Louis Vuitton has profoundly shaped this sensibility - an eye for the exceptional detail that makes a space feel truly elevated rather than merely expensive.
Can Susan Chesney Interiors work within a specific budget for a Belgravia interior design project?
Yes - and we consider transparent budgeting to be one of our core commitments to every client. We won't propose schemes that aren't achievable within your parameters, and we'll always be upfront about where investments are worth making and where savings can be found without compromising quality. Our philosophy - spend wisely, spend once - is not just a tagline. It reflects a genuine belief that good design is an investment that pays dividends for years, and that it should be accessible and well-managed, not opaque or open-ended.
Do your Belgravia interior designers work on both private residential projects and rental properties?
We primarily work with private residential clients who are looking to create a home they'll love living in - whether that's a primary residence, a London pied-à-terre, or a family home undergoing a significant refresh. We're happy to discuss the specific nature of your Belgravia project during an initial consultation, and we'll always be honest about whether we're the right fit for your brief. Our strongest work comes from projects where there's a genuine desire for considered, lasting design rather than quick cosmetic changes.
